Q&A: How do you distinguish real leather from faux?
I found this really cool bag, but I want to know if it’s leather or not, so I need a quick way to check. Got any pointers? They make really good imitation leather these days!

You can sometimes tell by the texture, or the tag on it. Also, faux bags are much cheaper than real leather bags.

One of the best features that real leather has is its distinctive smell. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go to a store that sells leather jackets. Smell one………faux will not smell like this! Leather will keep this scent for years after it has been produced…even if it has been treated with something!! If you are still weary…it should have a tag on it stating what it is made out of…. this tag is required by law:)
