Question: How can you tell a Louis Vuitton imatation to an original?
I got a Louis Vuitton at a rummage sale, and I’m trying to figure out if its an imitation or not.

if you look in the pocket on the inside, there should be a little tag, and should have the louis vuitton signature.

check to see if it has the LV sign. or you can compare one that u know is real and yours

Your best bet is to buy it at the store.

Also a lot of the times it is very difficult to distinguish a fake from a real. There are some very good imitators in Hong Kong and China.

The zippers if they are real will have an LV logo. There is a “tag” thing on the inside that tells if it is authentic. But it doesn’t say yes or no, it says stuff about the purse. If the letters look weird or it says Louis Vuitton Paris France, its fake. Look at it and you can tell if it looks cheaper than what’s real. If you are trying to figure it out, odds are that no one else will notice either. If you didn’t splurge on it, it’s a fake.

You might check the patent and the design and detail of the bag, like the edge of the string that they go, and you might notice at the gradient of the leather, and if you might check inside of the bag also!

It really depends on the style of bag, like if its monogram or damier or vernis. The best way is to look for symmertry, no LVs should EVER be cut off. Additionally you need to look at the date code. Bags made before 2007 are read as follows: MI0072 is MI = country code and that is France, the first and third numbers are the month 07=July, and the second and fouth numbers are the year the bag was made in 02= 2002. Certian bags shouldnt have a year date of prior to 2003 (ex: multicolor bags). Also, there is the typical Louis Vuitton Paris made In ______ the blank is the country and should match the date code.
