Q&A: How can I tell if Kate Spade is genuine?
I bought a Kate spade bag at a garage sale. How can I tell if it’s genuine? Does Kate work with leather or non-leather because the straps appear to be non-leather. Also the material is silk or polyester. Does her bag have markings or S/Ns thanks.

Pictures have nothing to do with the content!!!!!!

Check to see if the label is sewn on or glued. Genuine ones have perfectly straight seams on the label (and everywhere else) and NOT glued.

From my knowledge, she doesn’t work with faux leather.

The first thing to be careful of when learning how to tell fake Kate Spade handbags is the striped bags. These are some of the most popular of Kate Spade’s designs and they are also some of the most commonly faked bags around. The best way to tell which of the striped bags are real is to look at actual pictures from authorized retailers. Another thing to look at is the metal feet on the bottom of the purse. Large feet are a sure sign of a fake. Again, look at originals to figure out what they should look like. Kate Spade handbags also never have detachable straps…..

If the straps are not real leather I highly doubt it is genuine. An expensive purse is not going to be made with “pleather” straps.

Its at a Garage Sale.. If it was real the original seller would sell it on EBay or to a second hand consignment shop to make more money off of it.

If its too good to be true, it usually is!
